What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of information that websites can store on your device. Websites can also use similar browser storage technologies for things such as remembering preferences.
Some storage is needed for a feature you have asked for to work. Other technologies, including analytics, are optional and should only be used after you have made a choice.
What this website uses
The Baytal website currently uses a small consent system and optional Google Analytics.
Consent preference
The site stores your analytics choice in your browser using local storage under the key baytal-cookie-consent. Its purpose is simply to remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics so we do not ask you on every page load.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is used to understand how people use the website. On Baytal pages where Analytics is integrated, the Analytics script is only loaded after analytics has been accepted through the consent choice.
Essential storage
Our consent preference is used to remember the choice you make about optional analytics. Without remembering that choice, the site would need to ask you repeatedly.
The home page also keeps a short-lived note in session storage under the key baytal-intro, so the opening animation only plays once per visit. It is deleted when you close the browser tab.
Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers to download them. Google receives your IP address as part of that request. No cookies are set by the fonts.
This preference does not contain your name, email address or the contents of any enquiry you send to Baytal.
Google Analytics
If you choose Accept analytics, the site loads Google Analytics. Google Analytics may then use first-party cookies and collect information about how the website is used.
This can include information such as pages viewed, interactions, approximate location derived from network information, device or browser details and technical information associated with a visit.
Google Analytics cookies
_ga: used to distinguish users. Google lists a default expiry of 2 years, although browsers may apply shorter limits.
_ga_<container-id>: used to persist session state. Google lists a default expiry of 2 years, although browsers may apply shorter limits.
Google may process analytics information on Baytal's behalf. More information about how personal information is handled more generally is available in our Privacy Policy.
If you reject analytics, Baytal stores that preference, disables Google Analytics on the page and removes Baytal's Google Analytics cookies that are accessible to the site.
Your cookie choice
Analytics is optional. Accept and reject are both available choices, and you can change your preference later.
Analytics preference
Current choice: not set. Analytics is off until you choose.
Changing your preference here updates the same baytal-cookie-consent setting used across Baytal pages. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics can be loaded on pages where the Baytal analytics integration is present. If you reject it, the preference is stored as rejected and Analytics is disabled. Choosing Not now removes the saved preference, keeps Analytics disabled and allows the site to ask for your choice again later.
Browser controls
You can also delete cookies and local website data through your browser settings. Doing that may remove the preference stored by this site, which means we may need to ask for your analytics choice again.
Browser controls vary by browser and device, so use the privacy or site-data settings provided by your browser if you want to inspect or remove stored website data.

We may update this Cookie Policy if the technologies used by the website change. The date at the top shows when this version was last updated.
